Catalogue of an exhibition at the Zanabazar Museum in Ulaanbaatar (and Prague's Dox Centre for Contemporary Art) of original color and black and white photographs made by Lumír Jisl, a Czechoslovak archaeologist and expert in Oriental art and material culture. Jisl studied Buddhist art in China, Tibet and mainly in Mongolia, where he led a successful archaeological expedition exploring prince Kultegin memorial in 1958. The catalogue reproduces all 108 of the pictures on exhibit, all taken during Jisl's three Mongolian journeys between 1957 to 1963. Includes a detailed description and analysis of his visual and textual materials and sources.
