1765. Original manuscript. Very Good. One page, folio, 43 lines written in sepia ink on laid paper. In part: "...Know ye that I Jonathan Peck of Norwich in ye County of New London & Colony of Connecticut in New England for & in consideration of ye Sum of Eight pounds lawful money Received to my full Satisfaction of John Willes of ye same Norwich...Assign for Ever, two Acres & half of Land...on ye Northerly part of ye Hill Caled Ayer's hill in ye Eighth Socioty in Sd Norwich... [detailed parameters follow] ... [signed] Jonathan Peck. Wax seal. [Witnessed by] Timothy Ayers and Ruth Peck. [Certified by] Eben. Hartshorn, Justice of the Peace." Docketed on verso by Benj. Huntington Junr, calling this "Capt. Jona. Pecks Deed to John Willes." Dated 7 June 1765. Capt. Jonathan Peck (1717-1779) married Bethia Bingham (1721-1802) at New London, and together they had five children, one of whom (Phineas, 1743-1813) served as a captain in the Revolutionary War under General Gates, and was present at the surrender of Burgoyne.
