About This Item

Fort Calhoun: Nebraska Societies of the Sons and Daughers of the American Revolution and Nebraska Historical Soc, 1904. First Edition. Hardcover. Good. 1st printing of printed folder (4pp). Event took place at Fort Calhoun, Nebraska, August 3, 1904. Verso of cover is list of various committees involved. Recto of back cover prints the program. The address was presented by Major William Hancock Clark. Governor of Nebraska John H. Murray had the opening address. J. A. Barrett, Curator of the Nebr. State Hist. Soc. presented a paper, "the Meaning of the Council of 1804." Your bookseller believes the council was Lewis and Clark's meeting with the Otos and Missourias. Good used condition. Mild brown stain on the lower 1/3 of the folder on all pages, but it is not dramatic. Scarce centennial program indeed.
