Red cloth with titles in gilt on spine and circular gilt motif to top left of front cover depicting a profile Napoleon I? Condition: Good, covers are lightly soiled and shelfworn, with light bumping to cover corners, and light sunning to spine. Previous owners name on front endpaper. Binding sound. Light browning to endpapers. Occasional light foxing with text. 266pp. plus publishers list. 12 b/w plates taken from paintings by the Verestchagin, plus tissue guarded frontispiece and occasional b/w sketches by Verestchagin decorate the margins. Introduction by R.Whiteing. Size: 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall.
