PS 30 was a primary school in Red Hook, Brooklyn-- located at Conover & Wolcott Streets, about 4 blocks from the waterfront docks in a working-class neighborhood. Teacher Helen O'Hara kept a daily attendance book and jotted 'progress' notes for each of her 4th graders, the kids of Red Hook in 1918-- Louis Vivian. Jane Castagliola. Harry Ninberg. Violet Holzkamf. Mary McGregor. Concetta Alfonso. John Pendergast. .
