'TEACHER'S RECORD of ATTENDANCE & PROGRESS of PUPILS'-- 4th graders in public school in NYC, 1918 -- Days Present/ Effort/ Proficiency/ Days Absent/ Times Late/ Deportment/ Promoted/ Books Returned. PS 30 was a primary school in Red Hook, Brooklyn-- located at Conover & Wolcott Streets, about 4 blocks from the waterfront docks in a working-class neighborhood. Teacher Helen O'Hara kept a daily attendance book and jotted 'progress' notes for each of her 4th graders, the kids of Red Hook in 1918-- Louis Vivian. Jane Castagliola. Harry Ninberg.
