A Modern Library Giant edition presenting the full contents of two collections of short stories by John O'Hara (1905-1970). Many of these stories were originally published in "The New Yorker" before appearing in his "Assembly" and "The Cape Cod Lighter" collections. --- In Toledano G6 spine / blue cloth / gilt-stamped ML cover hex device / spine titling & decorations in gilt and red / blank GA style endpapers / dust jacket style Gg, verso is blank. Likely published c.1967 (though 1962 date appears in volume). ML #G88.1. --- A weakened front hinge has been repaired on this item; with prior owner's signature to front free endpaper, else a well-preserved, tightly-bound, clean copy. Price-clipped dust jacket with a full-length crease to spine, small scuffed spots and a tear to edge, otherwise bright, intact and protected in new removable mylar wrapper.; Octavo - 8 to 9 in. tall; x, [2], 425, [2, ads] pages .
