Cambridge: Leavitt & Pierce, 1958. Softcover. Fine. First edition, first printing, reddish-brown wrappered issue, stapled. Illustrated from black and white photographs. Covers measure about 6" x 9". 52pp. Fine. Laid in is single folded sheet entitled "Smoke a Pipe and Relax: Helpful Hints for the Pipe Smoker" and a single octavo sheet (offprint), from "Time" (magazine), dated August 4th, 1958, discussing, in two columns, the 75th Anniversary of Leavitt & Peirce [suggesting that this publication was issued in July of 1958]. Contains the first appearance in print of John Updike's poem, "The Old Tobacconist" [Roberts B2]. Additional contributions by Jonathan Kozol, Samuel Eliot Morison, Donald Moffat, Norman Hall, Lucius Beebe, Waldo Pierce, Walter D. Emonds, Robert Hillyer, and more.
