New York: The Museum of Modern Art, 1951. Hardcover. VG, bumps to spine, a crisp and bright copy. DJ somewhat tattered. White cloth with olive and brown illustration, black lettering. DJ. 160 pp. 117 bw, 8 color plates. Catalogue and essay by Andrew Carnduff Ritchie. Half of the exhibition and book deal with the first wave of American abstract painters who were active prior to 1930, and half after 1930. Catalogue lists 108 works by 79 painters and sculptors. Very detailed bibliography. A 's signature on ffep.very nice copy in hardback. This copy has renowned illustrator John Baur's signature.
