About This Item

Thomas Y. Crowell, 1981. 1st Edition 1st Printing. Hardcover. As New/Very Good. Susanna Natti B&W illustrations. CONDITION: SIGNED BY JANE YOLEN. UNREAD, but not quite perfect, 1981 Thomas Crowell hardcover (gold boards with gold foil acorn decoration) and dust jacket (in mylar cover), first edition, first printing. Interior clean and very tight, but DJ shows a few minor spots of shelf wear "scuffing" bottom DJ edge. DJ is "double" price-clipped. Signed on half-title page. CONTENT: The dire warning has come: The animals of Woodland will starve if something isn't done. The answer is "NUTS." Or one very special nut, at least. Across the land far away, past a sleeping dragon, in the middle of a Magical Lake is the Golden Acorn that, Wizard Squirrelin tells them, has the power to save the land from famine. The animals packed their knapsacks and set out to find the special nut. Four brave knights prepared for the hunt: Sir Tarryhere the turtle, Sir Belliful the groundhog, Sir Gimmermore the rabbit, and Sir Tunsalot the mouse. Ms. Yolen has created a beguiling spoof of the Arthurian legend.
