Blue cloth with gilt spine titles and blind stamped front; the top edge is stained blue. The bindings are tight and square. Text clean, light even toning. Moderate shelf handling wear. Previous owner's name under the front dust jacket flap. The dust jacket is price- clipped; has light shelf handling and modest even age-toning. 8vo; 8.5 inches tall; 369 pages.. William Hervey Allen Jr. was an American educator, poet, and author. He is best known for his work Anthony Adverse, regarded by many critics "as the model and precursor of the contemporary American historical novel.
