West Point, N.Y.: West Point Military Academy, 1888. Paperback. Very Good. 8 p.; 17 cm. White wrappers. Wrapper title. "July" crossed out and "June" written next to it. Henry Flanders (1826-1911) was a member of the Board of Visitors for the United States Military Academy at West Point, appointed by the President of the United States. According to the New York Times: "Mr. Flanders spoke in a clear, strong voice, and was easily heard throughout the assembly." Flanders was born in New Hampshire and practiced law in Kentucky and South Carolina before settling in Philadelphia. He also wrote and published Treatise on Maritime Law (1852), Treatise on the Law of Shipping (1853), Lives of the United States Chief Justices (1855), Memoirs of the Cumberland (1856), An Exposition of the Constitution of the United States (1860), Treatise on the Principles of Insurance (1871), Adventures of a Virginian (1881), and The Life of John Marshall (1904). In Very Good Condition: wrappers are lightly dust soiled; 3 vertical creases; lacking original stitching; internally clean.
