Raleigh: Edwards & Broughton Printing Company, 1915. First Edition First Printing . Soft cover. Very Good. 8vo. 50 pages. Soft cover bound in grey wrappers. Light wear to the binding. There is a frontis photo of the bust of William Gaston. Some offsetting or toning to the first page of text from the frontis. The rest of the text is clean and unfoxed. A nice copy. William Gaston (1778-1844) was a lawyer, jurist and congressman who was born in New Bern, North Carolina. He was an early Federalist leader in North Carolina and was elected to the State Senate in 1800 and again in 1818, representing Craven County. In 1818 he was chairman of the legislative committee which set the framework for the formation of the North Carolina Supreme Court. Housed in a removable mylar or plastic sleeve with a board backing.
