Paris: M/ Lambert, 1782. First Edition. Hardcover (Full Leather). Very Good Condition. 3 volumes in green ruled calf, gilt spines in compartments, inner dentelles, marbled endpapers, with Lord Folkestone stamped on covers. Each with a fore-edge painting of women outdoors. Spines a little rubbed, edges slightly worn. Each with a label noting that they were donated to Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College along with a 1969 dated inscription noting the same.

Adéle et Théodore is an articulation of Madame de Genlis' educational theories written as an epistolary novel. She was influenced by Rousseau and, in turn, was very influential on Maria Edgeworths writings.
