Graduating from West Point in 1871, he served as an aide-de-camp to Lt. Gen. Philip Sheridan. 1878 Bannock Indian War. Spanish -American War. Promoted Brigadier General, he commanded the district of San Juan, Puerto Rico, and fought in the Philippines. Died 1912. Plate X is separated and damaged. Top and bottom of spine worn.
