Chicago: Donohue Brothers. Very Good with no dust jacket. N.D.. Hardcover. This charming little book is about a Brownie. This friendly little elf lives in the coal cellar of a family home, and the book tells of adventures Brownie has with members of the family. Each story has an illustration in B&W. A few of the stories are Brownie and the Cherry Tree, Brownie's Ride, and Browni on the Ice. The last one is illustrated on the frontispiece. The binding is black with silver decorations, which go to the spine. Lettering is also in silver. The corners have light wear, as do the spine ends. The pages are tanned, and the FFEP has a gift note written in pencil, and the recipients name is stamped in. There is a date on the note of 1900. ; B&W Illustrations; 16mo 6" - 7" tall; 147 pages .
