London: J.M.Dent & Sons, 1940 VG-/VG-. 8vo. original blue cloth (prev. owner's name to front pastedown (crossed out), FFE removed, some spotting and offsetting) in dustwrapper (price-clipped, rubbed & frayed with some chipping, mainly to spine ends); pp. viii, 228, with 17 illustrations. A very good copy in a worn dustwrapper. [Neate: S108: Frank Smythe was a British mountaineer who climbed extensively in the Alps. His Himalayan expeditions included the 1930 attempt on Kanchenjunga, first ascent of Kamet, and Everest twice. He was a fine photographer and one of the most prolific and widely-read pre-war climbers]. Note this copy states '2nd impression' on the dustwrapper, though the book itself is the first edition.. First Edition. Hard Cover. VG-/VG-.
