Frontispieces In Both Volumes, With Plate For Each Of 12 Chapters In Each Volume; 26 Plates Total. Both Volumes Stated Second Edition On Title Pages. Bound In Quarter Red Morocco Gilt, Thick Boards; Marbled Endpapers, All Edges Gilt. Engraved Bookplate Of Etrangere De Galignani In Volume I. Wear, Fraying At Corners Of Bindings. Hinges Solid And Tight. Volume I Has Surface Split Along Front Spine Edge, Which Can Be Easily Repaired. One Plate In Volume Ii Is Loose, And Surface Paper On Front Board Mostly Peeled Away Revealing Another Identical Surface Paper Beneath. Pages Clean And Complete; Plates With Light Foxing; Tissue Guards With Heavy Foxing.
