Tom Sawyer satirizes adult conventions to paint an idyllic picture of boyhood life. Sequels and other works by Twain featuring Tom Sawyer include Adventures of Huckleberry Finn (1884), Tom Sawyer Abroad (1894), and Tom Sawyer Detective (1896).
