About This Item
Hartford: American Publishing Company, 1876. 1st Edition. Hardcover. Very Good. First edition, second printing type A (BAL 3369). Two critical points: laid not wove paper and collation of the first "xiv"pages. Full calf, repaired in 1977 (bookbinder's invoice laid-in): rebacked with new endpapers. Corners missing some calf over board. Internals quite nice. From the private library of H.H. White with his library ticket rear pastedown and his penciled signature dated 1877 from original endpaper laid-back down onto front pastedown.
