He came to the United States when he was just 12 years old. He went on to co-found the San Francisco chapter of the AIGA, including serving a nine-year board position as design historian. In 2001 Reoutt received the AIGA Fellowship award for “personal and professional contributions to raising the standards of excellence within our design community."
