New York: G. P. Putnam's Sons. Good+ in Fair dust jacket. 1930. First Edition; First Printing. Hardcover. 1st edition from private library. Green buckram cover, with yellow printing on spine and front, is clean with almost no wear. Call letters in ink at lower edge front paste-down endpaper. Book plate of M. Graham Netting (former director of the Carnegie Museum of Natural History) on verso of front free endpaper along with ink notation in left upper corner "Union Library 8/3/34" in small ink letters. There is a slight separation between the 4th and 5th signatures but they are not loose. DJ has large chips, particularly from top front, tears, rubbing and soiling, call letters on spine, now in mylar. ; Includes 75 illustrations. ; Black and White Photographs; Large 8vo 9" - 10" tall; 274 pages .
