New York: Duell, Sloan and Pearce, 1950. First edition. Hardcover. Good in Fair dust jacket. 24.5 x 18 cm. Octavo. Green cloth in worn dust jacket. Signed by Steig: "To Stanley with love from Bill" on front free endpaper. Stated first edition. Cartoon drawings with captions on opposing pages. Damp staining to front and back cover. Chipping to head and tail of spien of boards. The jacket is in rough shape with the rear flap being detached, tape repair, and some pieces missing.
