Edward Lear's humorous verse about the Akond of Swat, a mysterious Middle Eastern man, published as a New Year's gift by the late bookseller and publisher, Ian Jackson. Illustrations by his wife, Ann Arnold. Also includes "Appendix Akondiana", six extra verses perhaps written by Lear in J. A. Symonds copy of Lear's Laughable Lyrics, as well as an essay by Jackson. Also includes four photocopied sheets of "A Suppressed Verse for Older Readers" with erotic illustrations by Arnold. ; Oblong 8vo 8" to 9" tall; 64 pages .
