Tipped in is an inscription signed by Codman Hislop and dated 1961.Laid in is a typed letter to Mr. Thomas Fitzgerald signed by the Vice-President of Argus with the following as part of the letter: "It seems to me that you, more than anybody else in this city, deserve the credit for the launching of this project and consequently for the teaching of Albany's splendid history . . . since it was under your administration that the Board of Education authorized this book. Previous owner's signature in ink on the front free endpaper. One of the most desirable copies of this book. . Very Good. Hardcover. First Edition. 1936.
