England/Africa, 1917. Hardcover. Very good. 32p octavo, 32 pages of news clippings of obituaries from the UK and Africa. Selous, author of books on hunting he's most famous for "Travel & Adventure in South-East Africa...(1893). He hunted with Teddy Roosevelt. On Jan 4 1917 at the age of 65 he was killed fighting the Germans in East Africa. The octavo album is bound in green cloth and labeled "Press Cuttings" on the spine. Laid in is an a.l.s. ( hand written letter) from Selous to Mr Coplles Dec 31st 1900. In the letter Selous tells the reader that he doesn't want to discuss his hunting trip in Newfoundland because it was sopoor. "only saw one good Stag". "The westher was nearly always bad and very few of my photographs came out". "I now know where to go..." He wants to write about Newfoundland after his next trip. 12mo, fine, folded. WITH
