About This Item

London: Macmillan Children's Books, 2005. First Edition . Hardcover. Very Good/Very Good. This is a first printing of the first edition, with a complete number line. The interior of the book is crisp and clean, with no marks or wear. The black covers are fresh, with minimal wear, but two shallow dents on the back cover, close to the spine. The jacket is not price-clipped, and is also in very good condition, with the same two dents. The jacket is now in a protective mylar cover. Please note that the jacket colour is not the grey shown in the attached image, but a shiny gold which my scanner can't reproduce. Synopsis: "In the heart of the desert stands the walled city of Barbal. Here, Mardak the Dark reigns supreme. ... Mardak's obsessive pursuits have already led to the imprisonment of his arch-rival, the Lord Alchemist. Now nothing stands in his way -- except for young Silas Root. Small, fiery-hearted Silas sets off for Barbal armed with only a simple stone talisman and a sense of his own destiny. Does Silas have the courage to confront such evil and defeat the man behind the mask? The future of magic itself depends on it".
