Dark blue cloth binding, gilt lettering, top edge of text block tinted grey, several b&w illustrations + 2 fold out maps at rear. Condition of the book is GOOD: light wear and soiling overall, lower spine end lightly bumped, white stain on rear cover, small brown stain on lower spine end, hinge cracked at front, edges of text block lightly tanned and foxed, top edge foxed, pages clean, binding loose but sound. Condition of the dustjacket is GOOD: light wear overall- heavier to edges with several rips and tears and a few small pieces missing, larger piece missing from lower spine end, light foxing overall, spine darkened, in new mylar wrapper. Ancient Hist. RGR
