Paris; Les Cent-Une, Société de Femmes Bibliophiles, 1971, printing by Dominique Viglino. Alexis ou le traité du vain combat (Alexis or the treatise of vain combat) by Marguerite Yourcenar describes a letter written by a young Austrian man to his wife on the eve of World War II where he confesses that he must leave her in order to discover his true identity. This edition contains an original etching by Salvador Dali inspired by the story, it is signed in pencil by the artist. It is one of 120 copies and is printed on vellum. This particular book comes from the library of the art printer Dominique Viglino.
