About This Item
First edition in Latin, first impression. Minor edge wear, rubbing and closed tears to dustwrapper edges, spine very slightly faded. Not price clipped (published price 16s), no inscriptions, internally clean tight and square, overall a Very Good copy for its age.
A first edition in Latin of 'Alice's Adventures in Wonderland', published to mark the centenary of the book's first publication. Clive Harcourt Carruthers (c.1891-1980), was a Canadian classicist and Rhodes scholar, who after his retirement amused himself with translating Lewis Carroll into Latin. A scarce book.
