About This Item

October 27, 1852. Near fine. 16 x 20 cm. Two horizontal and two vertical folds. Allens, Adams & Co. used D. Bradley & Co.'s canal boat line to ship headstones to a customer in Palmyra, New York. Dated in Schenectady, Oct. 27 1852 and signed by D. Bradley.

Joseph Adams and Ira Allen operated a marble quarry in Fair Haven, Vermont, so it is not surprising they shipped headstones.
