Halle im Magdeburgischen: Renger Buchhandlung, 1728. Hardcover. Near Fine -. [14], 568, [8] p., engraved frontispiece and xiv folded leaves of handcolored plates: tables; 18 cm. Signatures: ):(7 A-Z8 Aa-Nn8 (8vo). Contemporary vellum with handwritten spine title in red and black. All page edges dark green. Title page in red and black. Woodcut head- and tail-pieces. Narrow ribbon bookmark. Small former owner's stamp reading "Joseph Goger" on title page verso and the verso of every plate. At foot of p. 568 is a former owner's stamp reading "Joseph Jacob Goger." Christian von Wolff (1679-1754) was a German philosopher who wrote extensively about all branches of science. In this volume his various scientific experiments are illustrated with 14 nicely handcolored, folded plates. In Near Fine- Condition: vellum slightly soiled; light foxing throughout; otherwise, clean and tight.
