The farm played a major role in the economy of the area for almost 50 years. Its many famous vistors included the anthropologist Franz Boas (this bookseller's great-grand-father), Maj. Gen Carl Schurz, Doctors Abraham and Mary Putnam Jacobi, and many others. 135pp.
