Elephant folio. 2 volumes. 21, [2], plus 60 plates interleaved with descriptive letterpress; 43, [1], plus 60 plates interleaved with descriptive letterpress. Of the 120 plates 67 are in color, seven are double page. (Folio) 59x44 cm (23¼x17¼"). First Edition.One of the great and important rug books, based on the Museum's previous publications "Orientalisch Teppice" (1892) and "Altorientalische Teppiche" (1908). The black & white plates are collotypes; the color plates are largely collotypes with a few halftone reproductions. Bindings edge worn, splitting at joints, repairs to spine of Volume 1and foot of spine on Volume 2; internally clean; very good.
