New York: WIlliam Morrow and Company, 1941. First edition. Hardcover. Fine/Very good. Illustrated by the author.. Thin folio. (40)pp. Orange cloth printed in dark brown on the spine and the upper board. Illustrated endpapers. Illustrated throughout by Wolo in monochrome and occasionally full color.
This is a fine copy with only a trace of wear and soil. The dustwrapper is rubbed at the folds and edges and is rough along the top else is in very good condition. It is price-clipped.
Inscribed by Wolo on the page facing the title page "To Suzanne Burdett" and with an original full color picture of a smiling flower, signed "Wolo"
Wolo (Baron Wolff von Falkenstein) was a refugee form Nazi Germany who took up residence in San Francisco where he worked for the Chronicle and developed his superb artistic ability.
