The spine is darkened with the head & tail chipped & the titling completely faded. xxvii, [ii], 464 & [1] pages plus 2-page publisher's catalog. Illustrated with 32 black-and-white plates, including a frontispiece, and with 1 folding black-and-white map & 4 color maps, 3 of them folding. Also with a 2-page synchronistic table of the Amarna Age. There is occasional light soiling & the edges of the pastedowns & endpapers are darkened with an owner's name & date on the front endpaper. There is a crease to the large folding map in the rear. Good. <p>First American edition.
