Hanover, N.H.: University Press of New England, in cooperation with Vermont life magazine, 1972. Small octavo (19 x 14.5 cm.), 104 pages. Illustrated. FIRST EDITION. The great rural writer Noel Perrin's work about "building a sugar house and making maple syrup in a small Vermont town". Some very light stains from a paper clip; paper clip impression to free front endpaper. In mustard-colored boards, titled on the front panel. Lightly soiled dust jacket, with small stain at the top edge, again, likely from the paper clip. Near very good. Inscribed by the author on the free front endpaper, "for Mrs. K, Noel Perrin, December, 1986"
