Motherwell, Sotland: John Meikle - Printers, 1885 91pp. Threaded binding intact. Tips and spine ends are heavily bumped and heavily rubbed. Tips and spine ends are fraying and are missing small pieces. Edges of text block are heavily dust stained and have light foxing. Both boards exhibit some edgewear. Spine and edges of both boards are sunned. Front boards has soiling near lower tip. Spine and front board have some scuffs. Spine and both boards have light scratches. Rear board has a couple of tiny stains near lower edge. Inside of rear board and rear endpaper are lightly rubbed at foredge and are lightly sunned at top edge. Spine is shaken and cocked. Front hinge is open. Inside of front board and endpaper are rubbed at foredge. There is a very small damp stain on inside of front board near lower tip. Verso of front endpaper and contents pages have many light stains. Many pages have smudges at foredge. Many pages have very small, very light stains. Pages have light toning and light foxing. Text is unmarked. . First Edition. Hardcover. Poor/No Dust Jacket.
