About This Item
New York: Charles L. Webster & Co, 1892. Hardcover. 8vo. Light green cloth with gilt lettering and black and grey pictorial stamping. xv, 277pp, (8pp ads). Frontispiece, line drawings. Very good. Faint bit of edgewear -- but tight, clean and quite attractive. A handsome and bright first edition of this comic tale, with lovely illustrations by Dan Beard. And also, to quote Twain's intro, "the first attempt of the kind in fictitious literature" to "pull a book through without weather." BAL 3434.
