Copyright 1911 (volume I and II), 1912 (volume III through VII), and 1913 (volume VIII and IX), published by Callaghan Company (Chicago). Each volume has publication dates that match their respective copyright dates making this a first edition bookset. NO dust jackets. Red/maroon hardcovers show bumped and worn corners, tanning and sunfade, soiling, nicks to the edges, small bubbles to the covers, bumped spine head and tail, edge-wear, and shelfwear. Of the volumes, volume I shows the most wear. Hard creases in several areas of the books. Tanned textblocks and spots to the foreedge. Aside from previous owner's name on the front endpapers, there does not appear to be any writing. There are a few pages with periodic tanning or smudges from paper bookmarkers being left between pages. Volume VII has several pages (233-240) that are bent and folded at the bottom corner. Overall, this bookset is in Very Good condition.
