Boston: Oliver Ditson, 1851. Soft cover. Good. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall. 38 pp. plus 10 pp. Ads. Bottom of title page "Entered according to an Act of Congress in the year 1851 by Mason & Law N.Y." However, it reports 1852 events. Front cover with woodcut of cello player, sewing broken,covers chipped, interior very good. This scarce item was the first and last edition. World Catalogue lists 2 copies. (Lowell Mason (1792-1872) Hymn composer, music publisher, and one of the founders of public-school music education in the United States.
