George Virtue, 26 Ivy Lane, 1840, 1840. 1st Edition. 4to., 27cm, first edition, iv,[2],140,4p., engraved title page, (is heavily foxed), wanting the printed title page, with 68 steel engraved plates, in contemporary half green decorated calf, chipped at the head of the spine, the plates have some foxing but are good clean impressions, as is (tgc) George Virtue, London, imprint precedes - James S. Virtue, City Road, and Ivy Lane. London and New York. Howes B-209. Sabin 3784. - Views including six plates of Niagara Falls and area; 3 on New York city, 2 on Boston, 1 Erie canal, 1 Lake Ontario, many on the Hudson River and Hudson valley.
