The author was the former Secretary of Health, Education, and Welfare and an architect of Medicare and Medicaid under President Carter. In this book he looks to the private sector to lead us from a sick card system to a more efficient health care system with specific recommendations to everyone in the health care system to get the job done. His ideas would curtail unnecessary treatment, curb excessive fees and profits, reshape how doctors are trained and paid, cut the number of hospital beds, and change America's health habits. A clean very presentable copy.
