Below the inscription, the author/illustrator has drawn three cats dressed in evening wear, captioning below, " 'Tom, I've seen Grant's Tomb, the Brooklyn Bridge, the Niger [sic] Clubs and the Woolworth Building, but if we go back to Marquette without a glimpse of Fran Rusel [sic]. I'll never hold up my head again!'
