About This Item
United States: Cythera Press 1969, 1st edition. (Cloth) unpaginated. Fine in very good dust jacket. 4to. Red cloth covers with Rowlandson's signature in black to front, black lettering to spine. Illustrated EP's. 39 pgs. Text, 50 plates. Clean, white and tight throughtout. Slight wine stain down centre of FPD EP, FF EP and half-title. Noted illustrator's erotic work which was rather a scathing and deliberate "voicing" of his views of the temperance and overall of society's view towards sexuality at the time in England. At times quite political, as his depictions of the perverted old men all seem to be of the upper middle class and nobility sects of society..
