About This Item
Greenfield, Indiana: Wm. Mitchell Printing, 1928 Bound in green ribbed cloth with gilt titles and Doniphan crest on front cover, 700 pp. Rather thorough history, genealogy going back to the 16th and 17th century European ancestors. Quite a bit on Colonel [later general] Alexander William Doniphan and his exploits in the Mexican War. 1928 date on title page while copyright is 1929. There is a bookplate. Clean, bright tight copy with a stain, apparently from a spill which affects the margin and parts os a few words on either side of the leaf. Also a small worm hole [1/4" maximum to the margin of several leaves in the back, not in any way near the text. A rare genealogy with no other copies available except a much later reprint. Even WorldCat only lists the 1998 reprint.
