German language, 20 stories tr. from Danish by Gertrud Bauer; very beautiful ill. by Paul Hey, 12 full-page and full-color, including frontis.; 290 p., clean and unmarked except for gift inscription on front end paper; paper age-toned but unchipped; binding firm ; orange boards with elegant flight of swans blind-stamped in dark blue, as well as black calligraphic lettering is slightly bumped at corners, some rubbing at crown of spine with small closed tear at foot of spine, some scuffing on back. Period publishers list at end of volume.
