Pensacola: The King & Queen Press,, 1968. Inscribed to the founder of the Lord John Press First and sole edition, one of 150 copies. Presentation copy, inscribed by the author "for Herb Yellin something of an angel himself John" on the half title. Herb Yellin (1935-2014) was a publisher and founder of the Lord John Press, who published handsome signed limited editions for a number of high-profile authors, including Stephen King, Ray Bradbury, and Ursula Le Guin. Updike's poem "The Angels" first appeared in The New Yorker Magazine on 27th January 1968. This edition was printed by Jim and Ruth Servies during the months of April and May of that year. Duodecimo. Original printed wrappers, titles to cover in black. A fine copy.
