Foreword by Francis Ratcliffe, introduction by author and index of scientific and common names of animals, birds and plant life; and with each group of animals or birds there is a small map of Australia showing its distribution. Mustard coloured cloth covered boards with green coloured titles to the back strip. In this book the author has divided Australia into various environments and then taken photographs of their inhabitants. Softening and rubbing of the back strip edges and of the book corners. Some marks to the front panel and flecking along the top edge of the rear panel. A few marks to the end pages with age toning of the text block edges. The dustwrapper is in not fabulous shape – please see photograph. Shipping to the dustwrapper corners and to the back strip edges. There is a 2 inch tear to the lower left-hand corner of the rear panel with associated creasing; a arcing tear to the top edge of the rear panel measuring edits widest 2 1/2 inches. There are various splits and tears to the dustwrapper edges which a previous owner has protected with tape, on both the front and verso – tape still in the situ.
