This novel was first published in 1909, and follows Ann Veronica as she rebels against her father's patriarchal hold on her. It depicts scenes of the women's suffrage movement, featuring a chapter inspired by the suffragettes' attempts to storm Parliament in 1908.Herbert George Wells (1866-1946) was a prolific English writer, known for covering various different genres but primarily remembered for his contributions to the field of science fictions, with works including 'The Invisible Man', 'The War of the Worlds' and 'The Time Machine'.A smart later impression of this work. In the publisher's original full cloth binding. Externally very smart, with a little wear to the head and tail of the spine and extremities. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean.
