Pages age toned, foxing throughout with gift inscription from Colonel Witter Johnston to his daughter Frances Howes Johnston. "Frances Howes from her father Col. Witter Johnston late of Sidney Plains, Del. Co. Neyork (sp) containing history with which he was personally indentified during the revolutionary war." Following page has additional inscription "Witter Johnston his Book." Colonel Witter Johnston (1753-1839) was the founder of Johnston, New York and Revolutionary War veteran who survived the 1778 attack at Cherry Hill and was present during the 1781 engagement at West Canada Creek. Includes fold-out map with one small closed tear inner margin and fold-out facsimile letter from Joseph Brant signed 1777. 191 pp., plus 78-page appendix. ; MCN27195; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; Signed by Associated .
